... but I'm miffed right now. My husband said he bumped into someone we know walking her dog this morning. She said, 'Don't get too close. I've just tested positive for Covid!' And there she is out and about!

Well, thanks a bunch for sharing!

It was outside and apart so I'm sure you'll all be okay.

Now, can we return to "I'm not often miffed"? You do a great impression. :-)
He should be ok as long as she didn’t junp up and kiss him
It seems a perfectly sensible thing to do. She is outside and can distance herself from other people, and the dog needs to go out.
// It was outside and apart so I'm sure you'll all be okay.//

so do I
I reckon on the figures transmission outside is nil
I had to take mine out with covid, but kept to the local 40 acre fields and didn't get anywhere near close enough to anyone to be able to shout to them. But, minimal risk it seems. We have to get back to normal sometime soon.
Transmission outside is NOT nil.
Did they both have masks on ?
The woman and the dog?
My dog used to have a muzzle on but I don't think that qualifies as a mask.
If you have covid you shouldn’t be outside you could be fined. It’s against the law.
I caught covid outside
In England, the legal requirement to isolate applies only to those instructed to do so by NHS Test and Trace.

If the woman had not reported her positive test, there would be no instruction to isolate.
// Transmission outside is NOT nil.//
evidence?

My evidence for the contrary ( is nil) is that a million went down to Darzet arrr in July 20 in bright sunlight and there was no spike at all)

second - fortnight later party at Daisy Nook Manchester, no spike either

and also third - - no evidence from the No 10 parties.... innit

I wonder why anyone bothers to report it then, Corby?

Strange how we've had all the moral indignation about people who work together having a glass of wine in the garden - and yet now the lecturers tell me it's ok to be outside. Hmmm.... different strokes ,,, and all dependent upon the identity of the folks. :o)

I've no doubt my husband will be ok even if he contracts it - he's triple jabbed and healthy - but I would expect anyone with any sense who's infected to steer clear of others. I do that even if I have a cold!
I was a bit miffed at times when I kept seeing Boris in hospitals not wearing a mask, then the penny dropped. All dependent upon the identity of the folks . :0)
Rainbow Rainbow, how do you know you caught it outside?
// we've had all the moral indignation about people who work together having a glass of wine in the garden - //

So we should, that option was not there for the rest of us working hard and yet not able to see more than one other person, let alone drink with them, at the end of an awful day.
Rainbow Rainbow. I would be very interested how you knew you caught covid outside. Did you see it coming?
she sounds like a ***
Naomi at 12.19 - you are minimising- again.

It's not 'people having a drink in the garden ...' - it's Whitehall employees breaking the law that their bosses created.
