.............to help the farmers? I bet there's not many on this website that have. Nope. I haven't either. It's REAL work see? It's not like volunteering to help the NHS or calling round to see someone, is it? And I bet they want to do a background check. Have a look to see if you stole any apples from the greengrocers' when you was a kid.

Apparently there is a website where people can register. Haven't got the address but I heard on the 8 o'clock news that the site had crashed.

The farmers will pick and choose whom they deem suitable for either harvesting and culling.

I think I could manage 24 carrots, but not much else.
At 67 with a bad back and two dodgy knees I should cocoa!

I will not be registering. I will however soon be lifting my spuds(no sniggering at the back) picking my own strawberries and after another month or so of my own summer project, picking all sorts or veg and fruit as it comes on song. The Rhubarb is done for so I am looking forward to the Blackcurrants, currently, developing. Can I apply for a slave labourer and get a government grant? Been busy out there today for sure. Didn't even have any PP equipment supplied either. Disgraceful. Think I will get my "union" involved.
If I managed to get down to strawbberry level, I'd never get back up again.
Is it too late fro me to grow some strawberries? Now that our holiday had been cancelled, I shall be at home to look after them.
