Do doctor's receptionists think you are daft. Called in for my repeat script and receptionist tells me I only put it in this morning. Sorry put it yesterday as I know you have to give 24 hours notice - we have to order online.
My wife has repeat prescriptions for high blood pressure. Once a year she has to have a checkup and then she is issued with 12 prescriptions. This year things changed; instead of being handed the prescriptions they were sent by email directly to our chosen pharmacy. Now, when she collects one, they immediately order the next one in and it's ready for her to collect when she wants it. Perfect system. The only fly in the ointment is that the prescription covers 28 days, so there should be 13 in a year's supply not 12 so her checkup date advances by approx 1 month each year.
Years ago, my mother in law went to pick her prescription up from gp surgery. She was hoping to get a bottle of tonic to help her recover from an illness. When she got home and looked in bag, they'd only given her hair tonic!!
I am usually puzzled when I read descriptions of doctors' receptionists as being feared by all. We must live in a blessed area, for our GP's receptionists are well-mannered, efficient, unfailingly polite. I would name where we live, but I fear that everyone who has to face a 'dragon' of a receptionist might want to move here!
Topical being a Thursday and here is me in my local estaminet. May have a Y Ddraig Fflamllyd a little later if the mem sahib joins me.Sadly no Red dragon whiskey is sold here anymore. :-(
Through (alas) regular visits since March 2015, our receptionists have become very pally and help us out with fixing appointments (OH's wound in leg following surgery for skin tumour). We are very nice to them and receive what we give. At first they were a bit suspicious of we 'foreigners'. If we do something in ignorance of their practices they patiently sort it out.
Don't put up with being told you are wrong when you know you are right JJ, just stand your ground and insist, pleasantly, is my advice. :)
