Multifunction A4 Laser Printer

I'm looking for a good multifunction A4 laser printer for low-volume printing. A fax facility is not essential. The printer must have a scanner facility.
Whilst I understand perfectly that laser printers are not intended to print photos (they burn photo paper apparently and are not designed for the job), I'm trying to find one that will print the odd reasonably good quality print on either plain or coated paper. Any suggestions?
