Hi!

I've recently been interested in shorter novels.

I've enjoyed the brevity of the few short novels I've read so far - and found them to be much more focused (naturally) than other more rotund tomes.

So here's a couple of recommendations from me:

Grief Is The Thing With Feathers - Max Porter

The Notebook - Agota Kristof
This tells the story of a set of twin boys sent to the Swiss countryside from Hungary to live with their estranged and rural grandmother during the German invasion. They begin to formulate exercises to help them deal with the hardship in this new world - they abuse each other so they no longer feel pain, or hunger and so on.

It's a wonderful short, modular series of "essays" from the children, writing in the style that is their writing practice. It's brutal, and funny.

Anyway. If you have any good ideas for short books, drop them in here :)
