Anyone remember the old blank tape advert that had a skeleton who sang a song?  How did the song go?  I think it was Scotch video tapes, and the skeleton said something like "and re-record and re-record and re-record..." whilst taking it out/ putting it in a video machine.

as i remember it was

re-record not fade away

done to the tune of a rolling stones song

"Now let me tell ya how its gonna be....

With Scotch's lifetime guarantee....."

"Re-record not fade away..

Re-record not fade away.." etc etc

Yeh it was for 3M scotch video tapes.
Hope those adverts were true as I taped a few things on Scotch tapes, due to those adverts, which I really want to keep but haven't seen for years!
It was Scotch tapes, and the tune was a rehash of Fade Away by Buddy Holly (which was later covered by the Rolling Stones).

Bit of a con really because the tapes had a life time guarantee, and the advert made that look like they meant your life, but it was infact the tapes life time (i.e. about 5 years).

you can see the ad on
