I have purchased from an antique dealer a painting which looks to be of the Spanish Armada with the only details of it on the back of the frame was Higgins and Bowers Tower Road London. Is it possible if I take a photo of the painting and sent it to this dealer (if they still exist) in order to obtain more information on the painting? Or is there some other avenue I should try to obtain more information on this painting.....Purchased this in Oslo, Norway one year ago...

Googling on H&B suggests a lot of people have been inquiring about them over the last 3-4 years, in the same way as you - and some have found that what they have is a lithograph not a painting (look through a magnifying glass and see if it's real oil paint). Nobody seems to have discovered who they are/were, but a lot of works coming on to the market all at once.
I have five paintings inported by h&b i was told they are copied in china one of mine is of the armada
