Your questions sound interesting. Try writing to the author, Willy Russell at

c/o The Stage Door, Phoenix Theatre,
Charing Cross Road,
London,
WC2H 0JP

Enclose an SAE. I'm sure he'll reply if not too busy.

If you have connections with a university, you may be able to consult a database of past phd thesis. You may find something relevant there. Try asking the librarian.

Thanx peeps for your answers, i wouldnt mind writing to the author but it has to be in by the end of this month so...

I have asked some friends that go to college and uni but they could not get hold of any useful resources for me.

I think this is the worst essay topic EVER!! lol

Any more ideas.... :s

yes, googling for blood brothers+russell brings up 33,000 results. Life's too short for me to read them all, but are you sure there's nothing in there you could use? Already I see from one review that the issue of class is dealt with 'with all the subtlety of a Hyde Park orator'...
A great musical I saw a couple of years ago at the Phoenix Theatre in London. Well worth going to see if you're going to be writing about it. I'm pretty sure it's still on :

Is AB censoring ***?
Could it be that you were googling for "Bloodbrothers" rather than "Blood Brothers" (two words)?
Try this for a start. Or this Education Pack.
This is a brilliant play - would recommend it to anyone.

if you buy the play there is information in the beginning. Have you actually seen it? It is still on at Phoenix Theatre in London - and you can get a programme with lots of info.

We do it for Drama GCSE at school - is this what you are doing?

Blood Brothers was written in the 1970s and deals with issues at the time eg unemployment/poverty and the differences between working and middle classes. The theme of superstition runs throughout - the narrator acts like a conscience reminding the characters of their bad luck. hth
