I read a book about 12 years ago, it was set in Russia and there were 7 short stories about different women in the book. I think it depicted the 7 deadly sins. I cannot remember the author or the title, which I am after. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Thanks.

Are you sure it wasn't ten stories rather than seven? If so, it could have been "The Women's Decameron" by Julia Voznesenskaya. Published by Methuen in 1987.  The book tells the stories of ten women in a postnatal ward in a Leningrad clinic.  Women ranged from an agricultural worker to a party official.

Unfortunately I lost my copy in a house move, but it was brilliant. If this isn't the book you meant, then it sounds like it might be one to interest you!
