Good Morning to all from 'The Ice Queen'.

You have already had a tour of the part of Canada where we live and what we eat and drink. But what do we do?

Well, I couldn't wait to retire and instead of editing books begin to enjoy them for enjoyment's sake. But instead of the easy life I envisioned,

I often wonder when did I have the time to work?

I do make time every evening to read as many pages as I can, but instead of just reading for myself I find that I am reading for a group in the

nursing home not far from where I live. One night a week we continue, or have a debate about, what we last read. The gentlemen seem to prefer

books about war. The two favourites which I've now read several times are 'And No Birds Sang' by Farley Mowat, a Canadian author, and 'Birdsong'

by Sebastian Faulks. The ladies seem to enjoy a good mystery which does have its disadvantages, as unlike the gentlemen who already know who won

the wars, the ladies have to wait much longer to find out 'whodunnit.' Of course there are books on disks that can be obtained from the library

but my group seem to enjoy that they can interrupt and query, which they can't do with an unknown voice coming over a speaker.

We volunteer for charitable organizations. I to the Canadian Cancer Society. Paying back for the times that volunteers helped me when I was too

ill to help myself and Mr. O was travelling long distances to earn his/our living. I now visit and talk with those who are now in a place I have

left behind. I drive them to medical appointments or for their treatments and I can answer many questions because I've walked in their shoes, and

sometimes all that is needed is an ear to listen, or a shoulder to cry on.

Mr. O belongs to a model airplane club (remote-control) and the members, many of them retired pilots, go around the schools telling the pupils

about airplanes and what a great hobby flying is. They help the children build small balsa wood planes which the children then fly in the gym -

just to get the feel of it. The main purpose is to teach the younger generation that there are other and better things in life than the culture

of alcohol and drugs. In the summer they have "Open Days" for the children at the actual flying field. There is always a cheer from them as

Mr.O's huge delta-wing plane takes to the air.

Then we have our lighter times with our many friends. We think nothing of driving 60 or 100 miiles to be together. In the summer it is a BBQ here

or a BBQ there or a pot luck supper by the lake.

Last week the Windsor Symphony Orchestra gave an open-air concert at Lakeside Gardens. This brings out the music aficionados by the hundreds.

Should it have rained we would have gone into the Lakeside Pavilion, a beautiful concert hall, ballroom etc right by the lake. I can't think of a

nicer setting for beautiful music.

I must also mention that there is a large recreational centre in the town closest to us, a 20-minute drive. There they have two badminton courts,

a skating rink, an indoor walking track - used mainly in winter - an Olympic-sized salt-water pool, which we take full advantage of, exercise

rooms with all you expect to find there, weights, bikes, treadmills and personal trainers.

As you can see, we have no excuse not to exercise; not to go out and enjoy nature or listen to music or do any of the things that give life

special meaning.

My random thoughts seems to have rambled on from one subject to the next. I think it's called 'free wheeling.'
Question Author
According to normal practice, for the everyday running of MM, I shall follow crofter’s rule on word length, in that each of my pre-selected link

words contains at least four letters and at most eight letters. Stray outside this range and you will be wasting one of your attempts!

Each of the selected link words may go in front of, or behind, my challenge word! The competition will officially close on Sunday Evening at

7.00pm, when Gen2 will declare my pre-selected words and then apply the same rules for awarding points that have been applied during all MM Link

Games in the past. My set of four words to have their links predicted should appear below at 9.00am.
Good morning. What's with the random double spacing ....?
My word...when do you get time for coming on line! :-))

Hmmm...rambling?...outdoor pursuits?
S'teeth! Even the witch (sorry, wise woman) of Stockport will be hard put to find the front runners amongst all those hints!
Could be aeroplanes or publishing.......or many things.
LOL...'mornin Aqa. :-)

It is not random Christiana, I forgot to switch 'wordwrap' off before copying and pasting from 'Notepad'.
