Dundurn, ive not read any of those, though I have seen Dorothy Durnett's name before. As you have obviosly gathered I enjoy novels that are historically based . The list of must look at has increased substantially since the beginning of this thread.

Vic, I have seen your name loads of times in other sections, hello.
Omg, you are quite right in your choice. I love Douglas Adam's Hitchhikers which I first heard on the radio. What a shame he died so young, if he'd lived longer I am sure we would have had other books of a similar calibre.
Is the Runaway Jury the one where the tobacco industry is indited. If it is , it is the most convincing example of the conspiracy theory. I dont normally buy into that theory but I was totally convinced by the rationale. I have urged my second sprog, who is a smoker, to read it but unsuccessfully so far.
Please excuse spellings and typos,

Yes, Runaway Jury was about the Tobacco trial.

Don't often come into this section - mainly hang out in News / Society & Culture.

I do like reading - mainly fiction but do like a good Biography as well.

Oneeyedvic, yes, thats where Ive seen you.
To answer your other question, I tend to have just one book going at a time, but Mr R is like you in having several going at one time.
We all have our different reading styles dont we. I have to confess I do ocasionally turn to the end of the book. Mr R is horrified, but if its a good book i carry on and read to the end and it doesn't spoil it for me.
The next book on my list is Shantaram which is autobiographical. Mr R has raved about it as has another person in a previous thread.
