Hi
I have read loads of James Patterson's books, but have not read any Alex Cross novels.
I enjoyed the women's murder club books and even his latest ones, have not read Sail yet.

What do people think of the Alex Cross books, and are they worth reading?

I think so. I started 'Along Came A Spider', and did enjoy it, but I kept visualising Morgan Freeman, who played AC in the film version, and I didn;t like the image, I like to formulate my own visions of characters, so i stopped reading the book.

Don't let that put you off though, that's just an idiosynchrasy of mine.

thanks - I haven't seen any of the films so don't have any preconceptions really.
I think I will try them and see how it goes
Little more psychological than the murder club books, but all excellent stories. I too picture MF in the role but don't have a problem with it. One word of advice would be to try and read them in order as there is a slight thread of his family life running through them.
I enjoy Alex Cross more than the other Patterson creations. As advised it is best to read them in order, I'm completely confused sometimes from not following the family subplots too well.
I too can only picture MF, Same as with Rebus books i picture John Hannah even tho he's about 25 years too young!
