Mine was 'The darling Strumpet' by Gillian Bagwell. I bought it after going to see a play ' Playhouse Creatures' about the first ladies of the stage ... including 'Nell Gwyn' I wanted to find out more about her. What has been your latest purchase & why?

My friend got me 'The Grumpy Cat Guide to Life' for my birthday. May sound naff, but it's really made me laugh.
Hi janbee x

Dirk Pitt is an American adventurer, been portrayed by Richard Jordan in Raise The Titanic, which is a far better book than film, the John Barry music score being a saving grace.
Also Matthew McConaughey played him in Sahara.

Under Action/Adventure in book shops and libraries.

I'm hooked on Jack Reacher novels........very well written.

Sorry for delay in answering you, janbee.....in the garden having dinner, as its a lovely sunny evening on the Sussex coast xx
Stuey, this is my first Stephen Booth, it's set in the Peak District (floods)and I'm having a bit of trouble getting into it but I'll persevere.
The Fault in Our Stars by Brian Greene (I think). I know there will be lots of tears but I had a friend with terminal cancer and wanted to read it for her, and a friend who passed last year. I want to read it before watching the film.

Oxfam is one of my favourite book shops, find some brilliant books in there.

I have Her Fearful Symmetry but haven't read it yet, love The Time Traveller's Wife.
Yogi, I too am on the Sussex coast. Maybe we are neighbours.

Queenie, I tried many Quintin Jardine books but could never get into Skinner, his wife, family etc. I'm from Edinburgh so that's why I tried to give him a go, but he never quite hit the spot for me.
Jan, just noticed your reply...I had to go out last evening so missed everything that followed on. I will admit they might not be for everyone. I'm a wee bit down the road (not far from Quintin's home in the county) but I will admit I do like the Stuart McBrides better serious but comical at the same time.
