Dear sir,
it's hard to read all of the
answers on my questions
site as the adverts are in the
way, how do I rectify this
problem?
unless you write like this the
right hand side is obscure by
the adverts although there is plenty
of room on the left hand side.

I have never had this problem with my browser (Internet Explorer). Which browser do you use- IE, Firefox, Mozilla etc?
Maybe it's your screen settings. Have you tried changing your View (e.g.Zoom) settings?
sounds more like a computer error, otherwise we would all be experiencing problems?

you could try using firefox, I hear it is better for having less advertising
Firefox will display the same amount of advertising as any other browser unless you download the Firefox 'Adblock plus' ad-on...
thanks snag, you just fill in the blanks for me ;)
That's why I follow you around cazzzz ;-p
I thought it was because of my musky odour..
I've never had this problem at all - the AB answers are in the middle, and a couple of inches of texts adverts on the right. No overlapping - I too am on IE.
I have IE in my comp along with Opera; both as 'back-ups' , but I constantly use Firefox which is equipped with Adblock plus. However if I activate Adblock whilst on AB it is impossible to traverse the site.

AB is a free site to us users and relies on revenue from adverts to keep it afloat. Consequently, whilst the adverts annoy me, I accept the position which prevails.

How odd.

Firstly try a Cache clear (ctrl & F5)

What browser are you using. Also, please let us know what version it is (look under the "about" menu)

Cheers,

Spare Ed
I have the same problem as above. I'm using Firefox version 3.6.10. The page layout is incorrect. I have cleared the cache and re-installed Firefox. I have raised other threads on here with no working response. The site displays correctly in IE8 and Google Chrome.

Hopefully my screenshot may assist.
Ive got safari and its fine
oops, it's a bit small! the blue space on the left is my other monitor. I'm using 2.
Hope this is useful, fed up switching browsers :(
I'm on IE and presumably have blocked ads. (Son is the administrator). I have never had a problem.
Slack Alice, I am unsure how the layout is incorrect in your image? Maybe a larger image would help?
AB Editor,
Sorry for delay, had to go to work ;(

Took two better screenshots by disabling my other display.

Firefox

IE8

If you can compare both side by side you can see the thread answers are offset to the right and missing words and letters and the end of each line in Firefox.
IE8 displays the thread content correctly.

This only started recently when you altered the appearance of the site.
Thanks
John
it may be just my eyes, but it looks as if you are using a bigger font size in FF than in IE? Try adjusting it by going to View > zoom, or rotating the mouse wheel while holding Control down and see if it makes a difference
I zoomed the view using Ctrl+ in both cases to get better screenshots. Font size is the same in Firefox, IE8, or Chrome which I'm using at the mo.
What you can probably see is one view slightly more 'zoomed' than the other.
Hi Slack Alice. I agree with Jno, it looks like you've zoomed in too far on Firefox. FF and IE behave differently with the zoom. Sorry to ask again, but could you take the FF one again please, but first press ctrl+0 (to return the screen to normal zoom).

It looks to me like you've changed the default zooming options somewhere.

Try upgrading to FireFox 3.6.4 and see if that fixes some of your issues?

All the best,

Spare
Just top clarify: it is under help in firefox, about halfway down the menu.
OK just disabled my other display again! Printscreen of Firefox as requested. With no zoom.

Do you mean downgrade to 3.6.4? As mentioned earlier in the thread I'm using 3.6.10 ....... ;)
I would add that this is the only place this happens, all other websites whether forums or otherwise all show correctly.
