It is annoying that one can spend time constructing a question, and practically at the end one may wish to enter a search in Google, only to find afterwards when one clicks 'go back one page' to leave the search, their work on AB has vanished.

Easy way round it is to open Google in another window
I haven't had this happen to me; but have you tried clicking on the question panel again? It may be (just maybe) that the question is still there. This does sometimes happen with answers when you navigate away from the page, and if you click on Post an Answer again what you've typed is sitll there.
Try installing the google toolbar and in the toolbar settings tell it to open search results in new window.

What Daffy said - or just right-click while hovering over the link with your cursor and one of your options will be to open the link in a new window.
Sorry, my mistake, you can't hover over a Google link unless there's a link to hover over, can you... /Swedehead:)
