Morning All,

Dump your angry and helpful missives here please!

We're going to be clearing up the shop shortly, so let us know of any issues you have encountered. If you could also tell us what browser and browser version you are runing this would be helpful for the optimization issues.

Thanks for sticking with us guys,

Spare Ed

Hi Ed. When you say... We're going to be clearing up the shop shortly ...does that mean you will be reviewing all the 'Report This' actions from last night?
Question Author
My statement contained a "from a database point of view" disclaimer Zacsmaster!

The site went live last week a bit unfinished because the old AnswerBank database was falling apart; we had a choice between implosion or an impromptu "testing" phase. Welcome to the "testing" phase!

Spare Ed

P.S. can someone tell me if their "subscribe to question" box is working? It seems mine is but I have heard complaints.
why is the question in dinky font, and the answers in biggy font ? most of the answers in this thread run outside of the box and i can’t read them proper. but as i type this, i need a magnifying glass.

also, when I post an answer, i end up being on a different page completely to the q.
Subscribe to Question. Yes Ed, when I click it, the wording changes to Unsubscribe. Can you please tell me exactly what this does? What does Subscribe to Question mean?
Question Author
Hi Sir.Prize,

Can you see a box on the right hand column above a tall ad and below a google ad strip? It should say "subscribed threads."

All the best,

Spare Ed
Thank you Ed. I can see the box and it reads

But that still means nothing to me. Cheers anyway
I want to say Congratulations for getting this site up and running, OK, so there's a few teething issues but in the grand sceme of things I think the Ed and Spare Ed have done very well, when all is dying down, the anti-swear button will be in operation, the jelly babies will become an Avatar, unlike my doughnut..lol, my fault for clicking on the wrong one, hope I'm not stuck with it!
Keep up the good work
Bobbi
Sorry Ed. Now I understand. Subscribed threads is a short cut to where i have posted. Vereeeeeeeeeeeeee clever
when I ask a question I only get the question title box, no actual box to type the question.
When I go to answer a question, sometimes I have been logged out so when I submit my answer it says I must log in. If you then log in, you are not taken back to your answer, your answer doesn't get posted and what you have just written is lost. You therefore have to start all over again.

Can you make it so this doesn't happen please, I'm pretty sure it didn't on the old system. I use Firefox 3.5.2.

Thanks very much

Hi Bobbi,

I think you must have uploaded in the split second between the tech team pulling avatar functions from down from the site. We didnt have the heart to take the doughnut away - there is something very endearing about it.

I think we need to get the time stamp sorted on the subscribed threads pod - but it should be useful in the future.

What do we think of the search at the mo? I thought it was quite clean and quick. We will have a web search tab up there eventually as well, but not for the moment.

Also, have any of you noticed the articles?

Spare Ed
R1Geezer . . unfortunately that is something that still has to be fixed. But if you log out, log back in and then click on a category, the Title box will appear. When you start typing your title the Question Box will appear.

This is one of the items on the list Pigletion.

R1, try clearing your cache, it makes a few of the issues go away.

Let us know how you get on R1.

I was disapointed to see the return of certain users on CB over the last few days, especially as one has clearly not learnt their lesson and is still littering their posts with swearing and being abusive.

Is this a hiccup? Or have they been allowed to return for good?
Question Author
It wouldnt be AnswerBank without hicoughs!

Spare Ed
Lol, nicely skirted round Spare Ed...so it's a hiccup then? They aint back for good?
Question Author
You wouldn't want me to be crass enough to actually state something such as that clearly would you? I wouldn't feel comfortable speaking so directly, it feels like bad form.

I think you should take comfort in my previous answer.

Spare Ed
Don't look now B00, but those certain users are conspicuous by their absence.
