The fact that someone can register the same name as another with only capitalisation difference is abismal, surely you should have thought of this? I've managed to register two of myself to different email addresses with different passwords, two competely independant accounts.

I'm going to register every variant of my name, until it's fixed I'd recommend everyone else to do the same.

That's a schoolboy error.

Are AB / Parent company hiring?

Thanks for the suggestion. No, we aren't hiring at present. Or at least, no-one's told me... but they aren't daring to look me in the eye. Hmmm.

As for the capitalisation issue on user names - that would work but perhaps it mihgt spur the idiot(s) to try something else. The best eway to deal with them is Report & Ignore: my new motto for the day.

It's difficult to report when you don't know whether it's the real person or the imposter you are reporting as in georgit79's case.  It's all got to much for me. I'm off to have a cuppa tea.
AB Editor - there's no reason to reinvent the wheel.  I am willing to bet that Yahoo, Hotmail, and any other company that registers users online has some sort of algorithm to prevent too-similar usernames... perhaps your captive techies could look into the systems that other companies use.  Report and ignore just will allow this stuff to go wild on the weekends, and there have to be more systemic ways of dealing with the issue.
GAB all!! Totally agree zgma....another one for the techies ED I'm afraid. Just feed them well BEFORE you lock them in again!
