have you tried www.familiesmagazine.co.uk? There is a paper edition of the magazine for East London but I am not sure where the distribution points are (it is free of charge and they leave it in libraries, shopping centres, playgroups etc.)
Ever try hiring a homeless person and dressing them up as a clown to entertain the kids? I'm serious, this isn't a joke...many homeless people need work, and they love kids. I've hired homeless people to do all sorts of work for me, like gardening or washing my car or moving my neighbour's stereo to my house. Try it, you won't be disappointed!
Have a look at this site: http://www.enfield.gov.uk/familyfocus/party.htm - maybe Wibble Gary Tickle. Are you gonna post a invite on here, I don't live all that far away & it sounds like it'll be fun!

There are many Children's Entertainers around, but not all are suitable for young and pre-school children.  Be aware that many young children are frightened of the traditional clown for example!  I provide a fun, but gentle form of entertainment that is suitable for pre-school children that is education too; stimulating vocal and listening skills and encouraging their imagination!

Children guess what's in the box, by way of Rhyme and Riddle and then join in a game of Pass The Parcel, with lots of prizes inside (not just one), then we all have fun playing 'Follow My Leader,' which then turns into 'The Story Train' for an imaginary jouney to 'Story Station!'  We meet lots of puppet friends here for a story and songs, where children get to use the puppets and shout loudly, before 'travelling' back for Musical Statues, Balloons, Face Painting etc.

All Guests take home a Party Bag containing Activity Sheets following the Story Theme, which you can then add your own loot to boot!

I am available for hire in and around London.
