Sexy Russian is an obvious problem, i am sick of pussyfooting around, can we have closure on this ED? Either she/he is a complete freaky phony taking the p1$$ or a genuine wierdo and therefore quite welcome on this site. but too much time and emotion is being spent on this question, are you in a position to clarify or not?

Dot, surely SR is only a problem if *WE* make 'her' a problem...?

If 'she' is genuine, then the poor, demented cow will tire of this at some point if 'she' is not encouraged.

I am sure most of us feel that 'she' is no more Russian than my fave pair of socks, and is, of course, one of us.

Does the ED have the power to 'clarify'?

i think the ed posted on this issue last week to the effect that if "her" posts are reportable then report them, if not, dont feed the trolls. I would recommend that noone answer her directly, and "she" would get fed up (advice i keep wanting to take myself, but then i just get itchy fingers!) My ideal solution would be for ed to allow the user to post but not allow Us to see the posts ... that would be superfab, as she would wonder why no-one was biting, and everyone was ignoring her! (mind you, she would just argue with herself i suppose) If all of the regular users would get together and decide to just ignore i'm sure it would work, as most of the replies seem to be from regulars (again i include myself in this; sometimes it's just too tempting!) i realise i am being played, but still can help my sarcastic tongue. MAybe SR is abed's naughty alter ego?

If folk like SR weren't here, some people would be moaning that it was too quiet or too boring.

SR is highly amusing, and that is a gift. There are no offensive insults, it's banter. I could point you to a site where there is no policy on swearing (i.e. anything goes) and where people really do say *evil* things to each other.

This here is fun, I say enjoy it while we've got it, we'd be a lot poorer without 'characters'

most AB users ignore dozens of posts every day without suffering severe internal injuries, so why do they feel compelled to answer SR's? It's not compulsory, after all. She seems to be no ruder than most users, and a good deal less so than quite a few, but she sure knows how to wind people up.

As to who 'she' is, that's an entirely different question, but not one that's capable of being resolved. Pretty well everyone on the internet is a liar (AB actively encourages us to employ user names and not give out real personal details). We just have to deal with that. It's not a reason for banning anyone. If she writes something reportable, report it. If she writes something you disagree with, argue with her or ignore her. That's how it is in cyberspace.

I disagree with you whiffey ~ in actual fact I find the majority of SRs post highly offensive.

But then I do get offended by stupid, ill educated & blinkered people who have spelling so bad it makes my eyes bleed ;o)

Pippa, SR's posts are mild indeed as compared to some on certain other sites. The point I am trying to make is that we are very very fortunate to have this site. The more upfront bleating there is, the more likely it is that the admin will again clamp down heavily on chatty posts.

It happened once before, I for one don't want it to happen again. There is a curious warmth and 'Britishness' about AB. I tell you, certain nationalities haven't got a *clue* how to do it.

Clearly ABed does not see the problem that several users see. Personally I don�t see the problem as if I don�t like a post I ignore it, and if I find something offensive or just pointless (as in �chat�) then I report it. If the Ed chooses to act upon my reporting then so be it, if not, then� so be it.

I am a very sensitive person, and if I can sleep soundly at night, then I am sure many of you can. In the words of that bloke who made exceedingly good apple cakes�. IF you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs��..
