As the NHS seems to get plenty of slatings, with reports of it going down the pan - I thought I must congratulate & give my sincere thanks to the Doctors, Nurses, Technical team & other's at this NHS Heart Hospital.

I have just spent two days in Harefield & the dedication, efficiency & kindness shown, was absolutely fantastic. I could not fault my treatment, or any other aspects of it.

If anyone on AB works there, or knows anyone who does - you really are a truly a wonderful bunch of people.

Are there any others who have positive stories regarding the NHS?

Last para - I meant, there must be many other's with positive stories of the NHS too.
smudge. I spent 5 days in Landough Hospital near Cardiff. I went in due to Bells Palsy with a suspected stroke. The devotion of the doctors and nurses to all patients was second to none. I commend them all.

Glad all went OK smudge. Look after yourself.

Unfortunately, my last brush with the NHS was not very good, as you probably have read. However, I have had plenty of good experiences too, and, if there are problems with the service at the moment I don't think that can be attributed to those carers that do all the hard work - the majority of them are wonderful.

Kingston hospital opthalmology dept. Brilliant, no holds barred in treatment and all done within 6 weeks from scare to final diagnosis. I brought the lady doc a bunch of flowers and a card to say thanks. She only worked there Fridays....
Smudge, I know some people who work there and I will pass on your comments. Although I live fairly near to Harefield, I have never until recently had cause to visit, but recently I took MIL for some tests and I was expecting normal NHS service like I receive at the now infamous Northwick Park Hospital, I was extremely impressed with Harefield, firstly the car parking charges were very reasonable not like the exorbitant NPH car parks, the staff were friendly and very helpful, a member of staff actually escorted us to the correct department as we had been going around in circles and the efficiency and personal attention of the staff made the whole experience less stressful than it could have otherwise have been.
Hope everything is ok Smudge, take care

Good morning to you all & thank you for your answers & good wishes.

So sorry to hear about your recent health problems & hope you all feel better soon & in time to enjoy spring & summer to the full.

I haven't been feeling too good since last Tuesday & am still recovering. I was on the op/lab table for 5 solid hours, unable to move a muscle, being doped up with morphine & sedatives, whilst the Doc's, etc., tried to find the extra electrical connection in my heart, through the 6 tubes in my groins. They finally found the problem which was on the left side of my heart & were able to carry out the ablation.

I have Wolf Parkinson White, which left as it is, can get worse & can be potentially dangerous. My consultant told me I was probably born with it & I'm hoping that when I go back for my check up in 3 months time, will be told that it's gone for good. Fingers crossed!

Have a lovely day all.
