good grief, I go tulip hunting for a few days and I come back and it's the black and white minstrel show. Lovely weather, and only a few hours since I was cruising the canals of Haarlem. But by gum the air of Amsterdam has gone potty since I was last there maybe 15 years ago - all the smoking shops were pretty discreet then but now they seem to be everywhere and the streets reek of it. Phew, no wonder they call it skunk.
