Group circulation - E-mails bounced back.

I regularly send out group e-mails to members of a local vountary organisation without problems but have today sent out a message to 46 individuals and for the first time had many of them bounce back with the following message:

host smtp-gw.x-mailer.co.uk [212.69.217.12]: 550 X-AOL-Abuse:
Too many AOL recipients in a single message.

As there are only 8 individuals with an AOL address, does this happen to other people and what can I do to prevent it happening again? I haven't added any new member with AOL and it hasn't happened previously. Many thanks

The may be a number of reasons.

One is that maybe AOL are now more strict and are trying to limit spam.

The other is that perhaps a word in your subject line, or within the text, has triggered their spam filters. For example if you have a word like FREE in the subject line they may think it is spam.

Try sending them about in groups of 2 or 3 and see if that still causes a problem, or maybe change the subject line if you think that may be it.
