I am looking to clean a few houses a week since I can't seem to get voluntary work but no matter what I apply - people think I am looking for someone to clean my house. Yes you probably think I am wording it wrong - I am so not.
It would help enormously if you coul clearly express your actual question, as things stand it is very difficult to comprehend.
Is this like cards in shop windows/noticeboards? tell us the wording you are using that makes people think it's you who wants a cleaner. I'd think it should be along lines of 'house cleaner available or domestic help offered, hours to suit' etc
Very confusing, its neither one thing or the other????
Have you tried your local paper for situations wanted?
Question Author
It would be

House cleaner available for 10 hours a week - wages to be negotiated.
Well for starters stating you are offering yourself for ten hours would be off putting. Your availability is your issue, the need of the client should take priority, e.g. three clients wanting 3hrs
Do you have any reference's, insurance or CRB checks?

Look it was and is only a thought - probably won't go through it with. Just need to know what to do and expect - thanks all.
You are being told what to expect, my last cleaner had reference's, provided police checks and had her own insurance.

Plus she did hours that suited me not her!
Question Author
ok - I do know cleaners who have been passed on "word of mouth". That's probably what I was looking for Thanks -
The ones round here say something like
“ experienced insured lady cleaner available for regular cleaning and ironing pricexxx per hour, telxxxxxxxx. References available."
