Hello I have a six month old female boxer. We live in the ranch with 6 other dogs. My dog Hollie is one the most happiest hyper dogs ive ever seen.. and this morning we found her just lying there, no movement, she's throwing up this yellow substance, its not food but its gooey like mucus. she is very weak and limp does not want to walk eat or drink. Her stool in runny. no blood in her urine or stool. so we took her to the vet, and honestly they didn't do much , and they did was give her a shot for the nausea , and fill her stomach with the clay/dirty stuff, its gray. he also gave us a pill to feed her with ground beef and white rice, just as he suggested, although she did not want to eat we had to spoon feed her. she didn't eat much but 2 spoons fulls. so once we got home gave her the pill and everything else settled in she started gulping down water like crazy! but minutes later threw up some of the water. its good that she is drinking because she hasn't all day, but she's throwing it up?? I need help, do you have any idea what this is and if my baby is going to make it threw the night, we found her at 8 the morning, right now its 9:25pm and no improvement but drinking water. please someone help my Hollie out, has anyones dog ever experienced this?

what did the vet say?
I'd take her back to the vet asap as there is no improvement - they need to perhaps get her on a drip to get some fluids into her as she will probably be dehydrated by now - If needs be, get a second opinion from another vet as I'm amazed they didn't keep her in overnight to monitor her and keep her fluids up.
I sincerely hope she improves and wish you all the best x
I agree with peas. Get her back to the vets.
Just as an afterthought also - and I don't write this to panic you, but please as a precaution check & change all her possible water supplies on the ranch and make sure your livestock (if you have any) have a change of water too in case there is anything nasty in there - if they have self-filling troughs, ask around your neighbours and make sure there hasn't been any water pipe works around recently which may have effected the water coming into your property. Check your dogs for bite marks in case the vet missed anything (if you have snakes/ spiders in your area) and have a look around your ranch to ensure no dodgy looking dodgy has been left out for her. Have any of your other animals been affected?
I really hope not. back to the vets, or call one out to your home if yu can to get her re-checked xx
#dodgy looking food#
You have to give her very small amounts of water frequently rather than let her drink a lot and - this is important - don't give her COLD water make sure its room temperature or tepid as cold water will hit the wall of the stomach and cause it to spasm meaning it is thrown right back up so she gets no benefit from the water and will dehydrate. Sounds like a case of gastro enteritis - maybe something she ate has not agreed with her, my GSD does this if he eats anything fatty.
Any update on your dog, sherri?
How is she please.? I do hope she is ok now. Like with humans with a tummy bug you should only have sips of water or your tummy will reject it as Lankeela has said. x
Do take her back to the vet. It could be entirely different, but when my cat started to drink huge amounts and vomit his food, it was to do with kidney failure (which can be sorted if caught soon enough). Go back tomorrow.
Could she have eaten a foreign body?
Oh, I thought we'd had an update then.
