Despite the sad news from Glasgow overnight, may I take this opportunity to wish all Scottish ABers a happy St Andrews day? A wee dram or three is in order but go easy on the haggis + neaps.

Yes happy St Andrews Day to all north of the border
My thoughts and prayers are with you all this morning
I hadn't read the news - what a horrible thing to happen.

The ABed ignores St Andrew's day completely in his little Answerbank logo. It is pretty cold here in Perth, but its not raining and that is odd.

Wolf, it sounds as though you get the same class of weather as we do. If we can see the Divis Mountain it's going to rain. If we can't see it, it is raining. :-)
Thank you Sandy.....hoots mon.....there'll be peabrochs soondin doon the glen..roamin in the glomin tonight !
thank you sandy, tragic events in Glasgow,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,a wee flag ^^^^ would have been nice :(
I'll join you, sandyRoe.

And my thoughts are with those involved in the crash and their families. Shocking tragedy
Can only echo the sentiments expressed by others in relation to last night's dreadful news.

To the rest of my Celtic cousins, have a great St Andrew's Day, we'll try and lift the spirits at the Millenium this afternoon.

....and a special 'slainte' to my wee magic English rose xx
Hi, Sandy....I'm sure there will be many a toast to the spirit that was shown in Glasgow last night.

I'm probably well ahead with my wee drams but another won't harm tonight.

Happy St. Andrew's Day......Gxx
i only seem to have single malts in the cupboard - have i got to have a dram from each of them? how much is a dram? my only scottish friend down here died in his prime a couple of years ago. they would only be to celebrate his memory, you understand.
btw - today was a day for him to wear his skirt.
lady-janine - The proper way to savour a good malt whisky is with equal amounts of water (not in the same glass). Take a sip of the malt and then a sip of water. Make sure you have lots and lots of water handy. Slainte!
will drink a toast to you all a bit later as I have to take the car out shortly.
Yes happy St Andrew's Day to our proud Scots friends and what courage the people of Glasgow showed last night. My thoughts and prayers to all those involved.
