What's the best way of handling snooty replies?  I mean the ones that infer that as you did not reply directly to the question, that you are a time waster.  I appreciate that this is a question and answer site, but if someone asks for an opinion, why get upset when they get one?  Do I ignore them or am I the wrong person to be using this site?

tetherend - take no notice of the "snots" - we are most us friends, and I really don not understand why the others are such bores.  Enjoy the site like most of us.

Don't worry about it - the problem with written communication is that all the tone, and body language is taken out of it therefore, what you think a person is meaning might not actually be what they are meaning
tetherend, my question which appears above yours seems connected and asks more or less the same thing - i.e. am I the wrong person to be using this site. What a sad state of affairs...

just ignore, my experience is that the "difficult" posters, as opposed to those who, like me, sometimes type in the heat of the moment, either tone it down or leave

Report them using the report button, as irrelevant answers
tetherend - if you're talking about the thread I think you may be talking about, I see the Ed's just had a major cull, including my two posts (but it's a sacrifice worth making in this case).

"am I the wrong person to be using this site?"

Not at all. It's not posters like you that are the problem!

I don't agree with all the Ed's decisions - sometimes posts that most of us would find perfectly acceptable disappear, presumably because one poor sensitive soul has found it upsetting in some way - but it's a tough job that I certainly wouldn't want. Well done Ed, on the whole - 8 out of 10 :-) Hey, I'm not too proud to creep!

What like my "Don't worry, be happy" post that was banned!

Okay "Worry & be misreable" is that okay AB Ed?

*miserable - see what you do to me Ed?
Ed banned my two light-hearted posts, too. for future reference, if i make a comment and it doesn't directly answer the question, i'm probably joking. please forgive me Ed, i'm only young and girls just wanna have fun...
I know exactly how you feel, magicdice Erm, apart from the bit about being a girl. Come to think of it, the bits about being young and having fun are a bit of a test of the old memory banks too. Anyway, I digress. The last two days has seen my number of banned posts double from 2 to a whopping 4. Actually, this post may make it 5.
The shame! My family have disowned me and I think the villagers may be organising a lynch mob.

littleoldme - the enfant terrible of the Answerbank.

mine has gone up from none to nine in the last couple of weeks. although, i guess part of it's my fault for flaunting the rules, winding up scooby (now there was a good thread), typing in french, and drawing attention to myself in such a way that Ed now has issue with me. *pouts some more*. either that, or one of you lot needs a sense of humour implant.

being a girl's great, you should try it!
