It says that peacocks don't go far, but we had a pair turn up in our village yet the nearest place to have peacocks was over 2 miles away and they weren't aware of losing any, let alone a pair. But they do have a presence. Ours took to roosting on top of the roof of the milking shed on the farm, like animated weather-vanes, as though they wanted a good view of the main street in the village. But the morning noise was too much for the residents down that end (damn townies!) so we deported them to the other end of the village where there were fewer houses and the residents, all countrymen and women, were used to early rising.
They are so noisy
Kevin! Who wouldnt screech at such a moniker. Give 'The Maharaja' his due status and arrange a bride for him.
