How much would a plumber charge to replace the water pump in a central heating system?

Decent pump is about £60. Probably counts as half a day of labour once travelling to and from is included.
Knocking on £200 including the VAT, but it is going to vary across the country.
Make sure a decent pump (such as a Grundfos) gets fitted.
Pumps should be easily switched if gate valves have been fitted each side in the pipework.

Is the pump easily accessible sandy?
I can't understand anyone paying £200 out for a job a monkey could do. It's not dangerous to change it yourself and the worst thing that could happen is you will get wet.

Be fair Mick ............ BM did say it would vary around the country. Where plumbers charge £35-40 per hour plus call-out, it could easily cost that. If you know a plumber down the pub though, it might be only half that.

Well in the current climate Builder, there is plenty of plumbers in the pub doing nowt.
