I think you def got that right Gordi is a thick s..t he is making it perfectly obvious that it doesnt pay to work. That is unless you are a mp, banker or a celebrity the rest of us are working for peanuts and being taxed out of existence.
Politicians never seem to admit to their mistakes. Even without this banking catastrophe the country was heading in a downward spiral caused by Labour policies. That is one of the reasons the UK is mired in recession and living on tick while aother countries have managed to pull themselves clear.

Unfortunately what the Tories can't admit and Labour in complete denial is the massive handouts given to the lower social classes that are pulling the country down. Brown acts like a rich uncle giving away goodies and some are lapping it up.

The middle classes will be in revolt especially the ones where income tax is going up to 50%.

We need an austere budget next month but once again Labour will continue to dish out the goodies before the general election.

Brown cannot be trusted. Some of us still remember the triple accounting just a few years ago.
Always good to see the expert economists debating on here ;-)
yes, rojash, I must be sure to turn out for the revolt of the middle classes as predicted; I'll bring a flag,a little tin horn, and some cucumber sandwiches. Vive la revolution!
"hard-working families".

That always makes me laugh. It has to be the most over-used phrase in politics. What about us free-wheeling single people?
'A future fair for all' is an anagram of 'Our fearful fat liar'
