Identifying a bird

Can anyone help me identify this bird...

I took the photograph in the Lake District and have entered it into a competition but they are asking what it is and I have a clue!

I think that is a little gull. The beak looks wrong for a black headed

give over Mivus- look how much of the head is black- little gull has far much more........ besides its about two months early for little gulls
