Well i never, i knew my cats had strange eating habits, but i've just been mugged by my big old cat Elvis, for a packet of crisps!
I opened a packet of Mccoys salt and vinegar, then put them on the sofa whilst i went to get a drink from the kitchen.. heard a rustle from the living room, and found elvis, snout deep in the crisps making noises of extreme pleasure.

Tried to take them off him, and he was not happy with me.. much resistance.
Who would have thought a cat would like Salt and Vinegar so much!!
Anyone else got crisp eating cats?

Lol, kira.

Yes, I have a cat, Pooh, who can hear a packet of crisps opening at a distance of 1/2 a mile.

He loves ALL flavours.
My cat does but doesn't like chicken or beef for some reasons. She also likes twiglets and salt and vinegar chipsticks
I've posted this before but I'll repeat it anyway.

I've learnt that you should never deny a cat anything it wants to eat. I once tried feeding my beloved moggy a cheaper type of cat food than he was used to. Unsurprisingly, he turned his nose up at it.

During the following night, I awoke to hear a voice coming from my living room, as if I'd left the radio on. I crawled out of bed, to switch it off. As I got to the foot of the stairs, I realised that the voice was saying "Hello? Is anyone there? Do you need help?".

Yes, my moggy (obviously distraught at not having the right type of food) had walked over my telephone, pressed the 'hands free' button, and then dialled 999!

If your cat likes salt and vinegar crisps, let him have them. Otherwise you'll find yourself reported to the feline equivalent of ChildLine! ;-)

Lol, chris!

Brilliant.
I can imagine all cats would do that too!!! Bless them

Thanks Chris - lol
Hiya MWB.....my Caspar likes Thai Sweet Chillie
used to have a cat who loved cheese&onion crisps, she would sidle up to me and look at me pleadingly!
So it was one for me, one for you! So funny to see her crunching away!
I found that the last thing you should say to a cat when handing over food is "you won't like it". It is a dead cert that they will munch all of it and come back for more.

The first time that I was 'catugged' I was sitting on my own, in the dark, playing with computer and Frankie tapped me on the shoulder. I about freaked out , but no - it was Frankie the con-artist.

Susan - who missed all the half price Easter eggs in Tesco today.

Not a cat, my dog. Whatever I am eating, she will want some, and eat it. However, if I give it to her specially (like the other day, I got her a tin of pilchards as a treat cos she was pinching mine when I had it once) she'll ignore it.

Thanks for all your replies! Its good to know elvis isnt the only crisp eating cat! And at least Nu (the other cat), isnt alone in eating strange things now, with her tomato and blueberry habit!

Had a good chuckle at all the stories! Great stuff!
Hi Kira. I have 3 cats, 2 go mad for garlic sausage, and the other 1 turns her nose up. All three like crisps.
it's the salt in the crisps that animals are addicted to. the more salt in a product the more the like it. check your cat food labels, most pet foods contain high levels to keep our animals hooked. but what do we feed them as an alternative!!
