Does anyone know of any safe product/method to discourage cats from scratching leather settee?

After months of similar damage we resorted to draping thick blanket like drops the same colour as our leather furniture and, touch wood, it has solved our problem.

Don't think there's any "magical" solution unfortunately.

submerge the sofa in water or cover it with dogs!

Paraffin is right, my cats adored mine just gave up in the end and used a throw over [to cover the claw marks].Cannot expect perfect things when you have cats i'm afraid lol.
