i took my cat to the vet with a badly injected ear. the vet did not listen to his heart rate, and gave him a steriod injection and an injection of anti-biotics. the following morning the cat was gasping for breath and he's lungs were full of fluid he was admitted to vet hospital. upon being admitted another vet listened to his heart and found that he had a heart murmer. my cat came home 2 days later and never really recovered. we have since had to have my beloved cat put to sleep.

i feel that a steriod injection increased his heart rate causing his breathing to be a problem and thus caused his early death.

i'm just trying to understand what happened, one day he was a cuddy bundle of fun the next he was fighting for his life.

i really hope someone could answer this question for me. i realize it's not an easy one to answer without seeing my cat etc, but i'm would appreciate an opinion.

thanks
