Obn another thread I made someone said if you have a lot of searches it affects your score. I done about 2 on dad, 2 on brother and 3 on me
All credit searches are recorded on your file and it depends what your employer has an account for, it may be it will show other credit agencies that you had applied for some form of financial service
Question Author
Oh and its a financial institutions account that I have used to search so it comes up with 'company name' searched you
Question Author
Hi dot, I done a credit quotation rather than application. Is that less likely to affect it in a bad way?
Yes this is a highly illegal manouvre in which many people have gone to prison for,you can now expect to be blacklisted and will probably have mi5 kicking down your door at 5 in the morning for this, quick get rid of the computers as they are evidence, ill have my pals come and meet you at 4.00 o clock today to help you get rid of the "evidence" Also a cuppa tea and a cheese sandwich would'nt be a bad idea either!

Question Author
no but I do a few credit searches every now and again for clients so I didn't think it would make much difference
Angel,better safe then sorry!
dot, well i was meant to be in a witness protection program and they threw me into london zoo!
Question Author
You're right hailthechimp. I was bored so thought it would be interesting to have a look plus my dad and brother wanted to know what their score was but now I am worried that the search done in my employers name will affect their chance of getting finance/mortgage
So doing something personal and expecting the company to pay for it is ok?

Not being rude but you should be questioning your morals as apposed what issues this will have on your credit rating.

If your employer found out they could dismiss you. Its all logged im sure. When the invoicing comes through and they ask who the people you were looking at online are, you could be in for a suprise.

Being jobless would be far worse than having a bad credit rating.

Your employer obvisoulsy does not give you enough work to do, if you have the time to do credit searches, paid for by your employer, on family.

The reason why this peeves me is that I run a company, and it annoys me when staff take the biscuit and cost the company money.
