I am having problems with my cynatic nerve (I think that is what it is called), it litterally is a pain in the a@*e, my doctor is as much us as an ashtray on a motorbike, just keeps prescribing pain killers.

Does any body have any advice on how to work this out, I was very active, but this is driving me mental.

Sciatic Nerve.
Only thing for it is to go to an osteopath, but it has to be a good one. Ask about and someone will recommend one. It should only take one or two sessions if not he's no good. Drink lots of liquids as this helps.
I went through 6 months of agony and one session with the osteopath and it was gone.
stretching your spine can sometimes help. Hanging from a door lintel or if your are not fit enough for that, try going to the swimming pool and just rest on the edge of the pool out of your depth, your weight should be held by your arms and the water.
Ask your G.P. to refer you to an NHS physio, who can give you appropriate stretches and exercises
I've had Sciatic pain for over a year now, it's actually quite debilitating. My doctor has prescribed, 500mgs co-codamol, 50mg of Amitryptiline and 500mg of lodine and it still hurts like a b*stard.
