Hi Guys just wondering if any1 thinx the xwords & other comps could be a bit dodgey? The reason i ask is about 6 months ago i was on holiday in Spain & got a morning paper!!!! When i looked at the xword it said i was "Last weeks winner" But the thing was (A) I was on my hols & (B) because i was away i hadn't even done the xword. So i was baffled by this (But i was still sent the prize) I would like to know if anyone else had anything like this happen to them?

I suspect that you won a prize for a crossword or competition/puzzle from a previous week or even the previous month - often the prizes are announced quite a while after the crossword/comp/puzzle expiry date is over. Had you ever submitted one to this particular newspaper ? If not, then that really is a bit odd....

Dear LucyThomas5 i would just like to say thanks for your lovely kind words. After being involved in accident a few years ago & being told i may never walk, talk, read or write again. At least my family & the medical people are happy with my GRASP of the English language albeit rather limited & i'm sorry you find it rather poor. But we all can't be geniuses can we?
