Hey all!

Trying to get my head round this but it isn't working!

My nephew is very allergic to cats, and always thought it would cause big problems with him staying with us.

Yesterday evening they came down from up north and we had a dinner at my mums, who has 1 cat, and after a while he was really suffering, itchy red eyes and everything. Yet since last night when we got back to our house, he has been fine, taken no medication and we have 7 cats!? Any one know how that works??

Only difference I know of between the houses, is my mums cat is pedigree and ours are moggies, but I doubt that makes a difference lol!

I'm just confused!!

More likely, he's allergic to the southern environment.
I get that, some cats make me suffer, some don't.

When I go to my mum's I have to take antihistamines for her cat but I'm fine with mine and some other cats.
The common denominator is "Mums".

Wiggal your nephew is allergic to your mum and Jen you are allergic to your mum too.
A friend who is allergic always said not to hoover just before she came as this raises the dander (cat skin particles which usually cause the allergy) and makes it fly about.Maybe your mum hoovered and you didn't just before the visit.
I have a friend who is allergic to longer haired cats but not short haired ones. Do your cats have short hair?
