He snuck out the door this morning!!!

He seemed very nervous bless him and just ventured up the path and down the path and headed back towards him mummy whenever he heard a scary noise.

Someone came out of another flat and he came back to by me and I just picked him up and he let me bring him back inside.

He's pacing around and miaowing at the door at the moment so will keep an eye on him.

Thankfully I got him a disc with his name and my phone number engraved on it yesterday so if there are anymore sneak out attempts he is traceable if anyone finds him.

Ohh jenna hes had his first taste of the great outdoors and all those wonderful smells to investigate, good sign though that he came straight back to you and home when something gave him a fright.

I felt so mean having him back in afterwards bless him.

The electrian just came so let him out again and he's in his element, sniffing everything and wandering about.

He's not going far and keeps coming back to the door like he want to know where his home is.

Will have to curtail the outdoor visits evenings this week with fireworks but he is a very happy chappy at the moment :)
Has he been chipped Jenna? it only costs about 20 (for a dog) and its always there, whereas collars can lost or removed. Cats especially are well known for going exploring so it's always a relief to know that you can prove he's your cat if needed plus if he gets picked up and handed in he'll be identified and returned
Question Author
I am getting him chipped yes, he wasn't supposed to out this soon but escaped this morning (he was brought into the rescue centre I adopted him from as a stray so used to being outdoors).

He has a collar with a specially engraved disc with him name and my phone number.
Hi jenna
Heathcliffe has such a lovely home with you that I doubt he'd go far. He will want to explore his new surroundings but try to let him out before you feed him then he'll be keen to get back!
Question Author
Aww thank you :)

I feel a lot better now. Thought he'd just leg it and disappear.

I've got the door open at the moment as it's quiet and I keep hearing little jingles where he is coming back then going off again :)

Just went and found him rolling round on the floor outside in a very happy cat way and smiling at me, bless him :)

Am getting him a little box together for outside so he has somewhere warm to snuggle if I'm out.

Question Author
Just put him a box outside full of cosy blankets and he re-appeared and leapt in and is now looking as happy as Larry :)
My last cat - George - had been a stray before I got him. He was in his teens when he agreed to move in with me.

I live in the city centre so he was a house cat. One day he got out and bolted down the stairs and went right to the outer door to the street. Some idiot had not closed it and George was about to make a leap for freedom - but after sussing out the world outside he bolted back up the stairs to safety.

I called him "George the Magnificent and Brave" - a born coward with a lovely face, a bad back, half a tail and little stumpy legs. Only a mother could love him!
Question Author
Awww bless him :)

Well he managed to get into the neighbour's flat, think she was made up though as she wants a cat and loves him :) So he's definitely made a new friend there!

Decided to go out for a bit to see how he did after an afternoon of him wanding in and out (can't keep leaving the door open for him).

He decided to accompany me all the way to the tram stop bless him, miaowing if he wanted me to stop so he could catch up.

I didn't want him too near the trams so popped into a security guard's office to see if he would mosy off himself but he just sat and miaowed at me then sat in the revolving door and refused to move :)

Decided to take him back home and he followed again but then heard a tram and legged it.

Was a bit worried when I got home and called him and he didn't come but he's reappeared now and had some tea and chicken bones to crunch on and his cosy new cat bed I bought him today.
