How old should a dog be before it starts cocking its leg?

My cocker spaniel is now 2 years old but still hasn't started cocking his leg, is this normal?

Quite normal, he just prefers to squat. My little JR bitch often ***** her leg when she wees!

Lol! My pup is a cocker and he does both - squats like a girlie doggie and also lifts his leg!! He does it all the time but prefers to squat in the garden yet lift the leg on walkies!!! No worries! Thats spaniels for you!!! :o)xx

My collie (sheepdog) didn't till he was about 4yrs old!
