Missing thug

Well, yesterday evening, my sweet wee thug left home.... and did not come back ! I was in a bit of a state by 6:30 am cos she had not arrived back.... didn't get a lot of work done today (not surprising)... no sign of her when I trawled the lanes at the back of the house this evening.... Even my secretary rang me up this evening to see if she had come home.... Other cat (aka big thug) was wandering around the house looking for mischief and generally misbehaving, so I knew summat was up... Well, at 9pm I went back out down the lanes... looking for wee thug...yep, you've guessed it, there she was. But in a bit of a state about something, she wouldn't let me get anywhere near her, so I simply walked calmly home, calling her to come to me on the way... Eventually we reached my front door and wee thug hurtled through it. She scoffed her dinner (as well as big thug's dinner...lol). Small problems, wee thug has decided to go back outside - I am gobsmacked .... she looked so shaken up by whatever experience she'd had recently... nah... it obviously has not fazed her one little bit...

I guess I am looking at an adolescent cat (she's 18 months old) who will occasionally visit me...

Any advice on keeping her safe and near to home ?

It is good that she isn't traumatized by whatever trouble she had gotten herself into. As you say - you have a teenage daughter and you will suffer from this.

It is good that they are both settling down. Being a cat slave is hard work. :-)

Yes, they have both been spayed, microchipped plus they have name tags on their quick release collars.... I kept both of them indoors when I first adopted them... I lasted 10 days before the kitchen got almost trashed - they could see the great outdoors through the kitchen windows and the (locked, microchip operated) catflap... and they were going bonkers with trying to get out, lol..... so nope, I don't think they would be too happy with being kept indoors, not now they've discovered fresh air and all the interesting stuff in the garden. Hopefully wee thug will have worked out how far she can go before getting lost again..... (big thug has obviously been there, done that, got the T-shirt lol).
