Wolf, wolverine walrus, weasel, wombat,worm water buffalo,wildebeest,weevil, willy wagtail, wompoo pigeon,wonga pigeon, warthog. Why?
Waterbear, wallabee, thats all I can think of that verbiphobe hasnt said.

My apologies for any repetitions - I cant be bothered to edit my list! - but all of the following are listed in Chambers Dictionary...wagtail, waldrapp (bird), waler (horse), wallaby, wallaroo (marsupial), walrus, wapiti (deer), warbler (bird), warrigal (dog), warthog, wasp, water (+beetle/rat/vole etc), waxwing, weasel, weever (fish), weevil (beetle), weka (bird), weta (grasshopper), whale, whap (bird), wheatear (bird), whelk, whelp, whimbrel (bird), whinchat (bird), whippet (dog), whippoorwill (bird), white (+admiral/ant/rhino etc), whiting (fish), wigeon (bird), wild (+cat, fowl etc), wildebeest, windhover (bird), witchetty-grub, wolf (+hound/spider etc), wolverine, wood (+ant/chat/mouse etc), worm, wrasse (fish), wren, wryneck (bird), wyandotte (bird).

You forgot witjuti grub, werewolf and wyvern
Water bears (tardigrades) are sweet little things. About 0.2 mm long, eight stumpy caterpillar-style legs, a chunky snout with two black eyes. More like a tiny pig really. They march along in water (and in water films on moss etc) and eat plant cells, piercing them one at a time and sucking out the juice. All that, and they begin with W.
