pigeons on bird table

How do i stop pigeons from landing on my bird table, I don't want to discourage the starlings ect, but there is one bird who has now started landing in it. It's the type on an upright post with a little roof.

Get a bit of 2" wirenetting and tie that around the open sides. This will leave openings big enough for most garden birds but not for pigeons.
Throw some food on the ground, that will encourage your columbine friend to not keep trying for the table.

Be careful though, I have known birds get trapped in wire netting and end up dying or flying off minus a leg.

I have to wonder why you are happy to feed other birds but not pigeons?

Thanks for yours answers - we already do put food on the lawn for the pidgeons and am quite happy to have them in the garden, but they eat all the food from the bird table too and frighten off the smaller birds, I am not birdist just want them all to have some. Not sure about the chicken wire but it's given me the idea to put wood around the top lowering the access height and then they would see it. thanks again

we put a rail round ours so the smaller birds can get in and the pigeons have to eat on the floor

I've put a bambo upright on one side seems to have solved the problem and put a ground table down with seeds, read on Friday not to put bread out, as the birds fill up on it but don't get any benefits, then ther'e too full to eat seeds which are better for them. Thanks again.
