Cats Bad Dreams

every-so-often my cat cries out in her sleep in a very scared sort of way, when she wakes up she's disorientated and upset... i was just wondering if anyone else's cats have nightmares or something similar or if its just my mad old mog

I've only noticed Sam do it once when he was curled up asleep between my feet while I was reading one sunday morning. He'd been twitching his paws and making little squeaky sounds for a couple of minutes then he suddenly woke up and hissed (and he never hisses), then he immediately looked really startled and confused. He then walked up the bed and wriggled in under my arm and went back to sleep there instead! I think something had been chasing him in his sleep.

murphy sometimes wimperss in her sleep but mainly just snores, loudly! although if shes in a deep sleep and wakes suddendly she always freaks out for a bit

I had a deep scratch on my hand when i thought i would poke my cat when he was dreaming. Wrong thing to do. I call his name now.

My cats dream regularly. I always wake them up. I have had a few scratches too.lol.

hey mccfluff you should hear margo snore she can be very loud. my beloved old cat patch, sadly no longer with us used to have the odd nightmare and would wake up all of a tremble.
