Flies living aroung the windows??

HELP!!
For the past week everytime I open my bedroom window about 40 flies drop out from around the frame. I opened my daughters window this morning and the same thing happened??? Can anyone explain this?? Is it the weather??
If anyone has had the same how can I get rid??

One possibility may be that flies look for a cozy nook to hide during the colder weather and they know the summer is ending by the reduction of the day lengths.

We have the same problem in the Velux in the attic, all I can suggest is just spraying with fly spray round the frame thats what I do. I don't know why it happens tho perhaps someone else can come up with an explanation.
