Hey, I got this cockatiel, around December, and every thing was fine. But about a month ago, she started making this really loud noise. My dad suggested, that she was going into a heat like thing, you know like dogs do. My mom thought she might think she was a dog, and shes howling, because we have alot of dogs, and they howl alot. I have had a cockatiel before, and it didn't make that noise, and I was just wondering, if something was wrong with the last one I had, if somthing is wrong with this one, or what? If you don't get what I just said, i'm sorry, and please, don't be mean about it, thanks.

Perfectly normal....cockatiels are noisy swines, i used to breed loads of them and i used to get woken as soon as it was light (4.30am) in the summer by 30 birds screeching at the top of their voices.
Not too sure what season you are in but it's spring in the UK and the birds are all doing what comes naturally....singing !!!
Just goes to show.... always listen to your parents.

It is probably a combination of both. Coming into breeding condition and mimicking the dogs in its 'song'.

Ok, well thank you. Its almost spring, and if my bird is going to do that for a long time. I'm going to have to sell it, or somthing. Because I work a night job, and I can't be waking up at 6:00 am. Because I get home at like 5:00 am, and I need more then 1 hour of sleep, and just so you know, I am only 17, thats why I still live with my parents.
