Can someone please tell me what evergreen trees there are that are not conifers ? I have Laurel and Holly but they're more of a bush.

Eucalyptus ? I know its not a native tree but I think it's evergreen . The leaves are the only thing that koala bears eat so they would go hungry in the winter if it dropped it's leaves .If you are thinking of planting one be careful where you plant it as they grow like rockets and can reach quite a height in a short time

How about Yew? I seem to remember from somewhere that it isn't a conifer although it's an evergreen...and i'm sure that the Holly is a tree, at least I have seen loads (had to fell one once) that were certainly trees.
Here's a few. You can include Laurel & Holly because it's only certain varieties that are bushy, in the wild they both grow to very large trees. Evergreen Oak, Arbor Vitae, Soaptree Yucca, Palm Yucca, Mountain Mahogany, Banana, Yew, Bay, some Beech, Canadian Hemlock, Ground Hemlock, Mountain Aloe, False Olive, Wild Olive, Sagewood, Mountain Cabbage Tree, Bladdernut, Crossberry, Wild Peach, Common Spike Thorn, Dogwood, Karee, Kuni, Knobwood, Common Boxwood, some Magnolias.
A lot of so called bushes can grow pretty tall, like the Bay Laurel which though defined as a shrub, can grow to a height of 20ft, likewise the Holly. The beautiful Eucalyptus(Gum Tree) can reach a height 50ft very quickly. The Yew is a conifer - but what about the Holm Oak - evergreen, and a tree?
Botanically a banana 'tree' is not a tree but a herb; it has no woody tissue in the stem. Yup, I know it's a nerdy piece of pedantry but if you only knew how long I've been waiting to pass on this useless piece of knowledge.......... it's such a relief !
" Monkey puzzle" trees are evergreen.
