Is there any way or detering spiders, like you use orange peel for cats etc ?

You can use rubbing alcohol and/or perfumed soap chips to keep them away from specific areas.

Yes. I got a plug in gadget that doesn't use any chemicals called Pestcontro which got rid of spiders, woodlice and the fleas brought home by my dog. I bought it from QVC and it was worth every penny.
