Why do some flies make a really loud buzzing sound when they're flying about, and some don't make any noise at all? It's not just a size thing, as there are some really noisy annoying little ones about!

It's about wing set up. Four winged insects make more noise than two, as rule of thumb, however there are exceptions. The dragonfly has four wings and is really quiet
