I would be very careful, especially if it is a hand-reared bird.

I have an African Grey and he see's me as his mate. They are a one man bird and generally males will go to female human companion and visa versa.

In their natural enviroment they run in flocks but in a human enviroment the flock is you.

May I ask why you are thinking of getting another bird?

do you not have much time for him? If you really do want another bird then may I suggest you keep it in a different cage and only let them out together if they are supervised. But be warned they can be vicous. I have seen my Grey attack a Macaw, twice his size!

Good luck.

Many thanks for the information,we all love the bird to bits but we all work and there are times when a 8/10 hour day it is alone.i hand reared it from a chick but it likes female company,if i let it out it will not go back, but the wife has no bother with it going back.i sense it toys with me for some reason but all its words are in my voice tone,i thought some companionship would be good for it when we are out working.
