This has to be the best webcam ever for birdy addicts! The server had crashed thanks to thousands of local radio listeners who were given this link, but now it's up and running again. WARNING - it's addictive!!!

Hello mike, welcome to the Edwina and Ezzy Show!

I'm wondering whether to repost nearer the magic chick hatching time so more people can get a chance to see these beautiful birds on a decent webcam. Is it a good idea - or let it stay as it is?

Is it only me...or is there a dreadful background hum going on now??
Question Author

Yes, you're right lindapinda I've just tuned in and although the hum is low it is continuous. As it's surrounded by water it could be river traffic or jetskis, or even the webcam.

It's very early morning at the nest and the sun is just on the edge leaving her/him in shade. The noise of the Ravens are making our eagle very jumpy!

cetti, just to let you know that we're still watching. I've just seen the pair change over and everything is so clear.
Everytime I look lately,I keep getting the "back after the sponsers" thingy...Really frustrating :-(
Question Author

It is a pain linda, but it's a victim of it's own success. So many people all over the world are now watching that it's causing server and bandwidth problems. I've only just managed to get on the site now and they are aware of the problems and are in the process of updating ...so fingers crossed.....

I keep missing the changeover sixpence, but I have heard them making a dreadful racket.

Hi Cetti - I'm still watching Edwina & Ezzy!

Have been reading some of the reviews & apparently there are now cracks appearing in the eggs!

Can't wait to see the chicks!

Question Author

Hello smudge!

Thanks for that info. Isn't that wonderful? I must admit over Easter Edwina and Ezzy have been overlooked a bit but last night I was reading about Benn Kramer - very moving.

Yes it is great & I'm going to be glued in anticipation of the hatching of the chicks!

What a kind dedicated man Benn Kramer was. The animal world could do with a few more people like him around.

Sleep well.

cooee Cetti I'm over here!

you may (or may not, depending how birdy news travels) know that we have peregrine falcons in Derby who are regularly making the news - couple of articles...

here
ooer I've gone dizzy

and

here

naughty things are eating thrushes that's nature tho' :o(

Question Author

Robinia, you were hiding and I almost missed you - as if....!!

A Peregrine is one gorgeous bird and it's one I've yet to see up close. Have to been to the cathedral for a bit of birdy spotting.

Your last sentence is very enigmatic - would you care to expand..that's if you're in an expanding mood of course :-D

haha... sorry Cetti, I didn't punctuate that last sentence very well....hadn't touched a drop - honest.
Apparently the falcons are eating thrushes amongst others - how dare they?! We have so few & they are my favourites.

Will the baby eagles hatch today.......??

Hi Cetti - tuning in now & then - waiting with bated/baited breath!

Whether it's Edwina or Ezzy covering the nest, they both look rather fidgety this morning, p'raps the little ones are about to emerge......!

Erm, I could be wrong smudge but if, as I believe, British Columbia is 8 hrs behind then what we're seeing now at 10.30 isn't live is it?. Surely it's not that bright & sunny at 2.30 am?

Well unless they've got a very large spotlight on the nest, it looked pretty bright & clear when I tuned in at just before 10:00 am this morning Robinia.

I am well aware of the time difference, but will just take another look.....

......Yep looks as bright as a shiny button!

mmm, perhaps I didn't explain very well. have just found a site that says sunrise over there is 6am, so what we are seeing now must be yesterday's filming. Under the link it says something to that effect.

Few more hrs to wait for today's events yet :o)

It actually reads:

This site is live during daylight, but rebroadcasts when Eagles are sleeping.

So seeing as it is only the early hours in British Columbia, they must have shown them fidgeting yesterday evening.

Hopefully, when we tune in later, the eggs might have hatched.........!!!!

Crossed posts Robinia!

It's like waiting outside the maternity ward for a new born!

yes...... back this afternoon! :o)
